How to apply as a performer

To publish, go live and earn on Sweetly you need an approved performer account. Signing up costs nothing; then there’s the application: five steps, about ten minutes in total. Our team reviews it by hand, usually within 24-48 hours, and lets you know as soon as they’ve decided.

Before you start, have these ready

• A valid ID document: ID card, passport or driving licence, with every detail readable, including your date of birth.
• A device with a camera, for the selfie with your document. If your computer doesn’t have one, you’ll use your phone.
• The stage name you want to be known by and your username, which will be your profile address and can’t be changed.

Your details save automatically at every step: you can stop and pick up again whenever you like from where you left off.

1. Create your performer account

Open Become a performer and press Create your profile for free, or go to Sign up and choose Performer as the account type. Confirm your email with the link we send you: the full guide is in Create an account and confirm your email.

After signing in you’ll find the application under Performer registration. Until you submit it, a notice with Complete appears at the top of your account.

2. The five steps

Public profile

What the people who watch you will see.

• Username — your profile address. You choose it only once.
• Display name — what people will call you. You can change it whenever you like, even after approval.
• Tagline and Bio — who you are, what you like, what your fans can expect.
• Languages spoken — they help people who speak your language find you.

Personal details

They’re used for verification and are never public.

• First name, last name and date of birth, exactly as on your document.
• Country of residence, which determines the tax rules that apply to you.
• City, optional.
• Gender identity, required: it’s used to show you in the right searches.

Verification documents

• ID document, front — required.
• ID document, back — only if there are details on the back.
• Selfie with ID — required, taken live: it can’t be uploaded from a file.

The document can also be uploaded from a file, as JPG, PNG, WEBP or PDF up to 20 MB. For the selfie you have two options: Take photo with your webcam, or Use your phone, which shows a QR code to scan. The code lasts five minutes and you don’t need to sign in on your phone: take the photo, press Send, and it appears in its place on your computer.

For a selfie approved first time: hold the document next to your face inside the frame, with good front lighting, no reflections and without covering the details with your fingers.

Documents are confidential: they’re never published and only our team sees them, to verify age and identity as the law requires.

Collaboration agreement

Read the agreement, tick I have read and accept the collaboration agreement. and sign by typing your first and last name. An electronic signature has the same value as a handwritten one. When you sign we record the agreement version, the name given, date and time, IP address and browser. After submitting you can download the signed agreement as a PDF.

Summary and submission

The summary tells you if anything is missing. When everything’s in place, press Submit registration. From then on documents can’t be changed until the review is over.

3. The review

Your application is reviewed by a person on our team, not an automated system: usually within 24-48 hours. Meanwhile:

• you can complete your profile — photo, cover, tags;
• you can’t yet broadcast, publish, activate your Fan Club, see earnings or request payouts. In the menu these items are switched off, with a tooltip explaining why.

When we’ve decided, you get a notification.

If it’s approved

You’ll read Your performer profile is active: from now on you can go live, publish and receive tips. For 30 days your profile carries the New mark and you appear among the New faces, where people looking for new faces look first. Start from Your public profile.

If it’s rejected

You’ll read Registration not approved, with the reason. It’s almost always due to a hard-to-read document, a selfie where your face isn’t clear, or details that don’t match the document. Press Fix and resubmit: the documents to redo are marked Upload again.

Studio accounts

If you’re an agency managing several performers, there’s the studio account, with your business details: company name, VAT number, company registration. Write to support to activate it.

Frequently asked questions

How long does approval take?

Usually 24-48 hours: every application is reviewed by hand by a person on our team. You get a notification as soon as we decide.

Will my real name be visible?

No. First name, last name and date of birth are seen only by our team, for verification. Your profile shows the display name and username you choose.

Can I take the selfie with my phone if my computer has no webcam?

Yes. Choose Use your phone: scan the QR code, take the photo with your phone and it reaches your computer on its own. The code lasts five minutes.

Can I change my documents after submitting?

No, they stay locked until the review is over. If the application is rejected, you can fix them and submit again.

Does signing up as a performer cost anything?

No. There are no sign-up costs or fees: Sweetly only takes a commission on what you earn.

Do I have to work only on Sweetly?

No. There’s no exclusivity and no penalties: you can keep working wherever you already are.
