Publish photos and videos
How to create a post: the file, cropping or trimming, title, caption and tags, who can see it and how it unlocks. Drafts, edits and stats.
In this article
Every photo or video you publish on Sweetly is a post: it appears in the feed, on your profile and in searches. For each one you choose who can see it — everyone, your Fans or whoever unlocks it with a tip — and you can prepare it at your own pace as a draft before putting it online.
Creating a new post
Open Posts from the menu and press New post. The first time, a short guide walks you through the steps.
1. The file
Press Choose the file, or Take a photo or record a video from your phone.
| Formats | Maximum size | |
|---|---|---|
| Photo | JPG, PNG, WEBP, AVIF | 5 MB |
| Video | MP4, MOV, WEBM | 2 GB |
The upload starts straight away, as soon as you choose the file: meanwhile you can write the title and caption.
- Photos are cropped before publishing: Portrait for the feed or Square for the showcase.
- Videos are trimmed at the start and the end, and you choose the frame that becomes the cover.
For videos we prepare a preview: it takes a moment, and you see it written under the file. If the preview fails, the file stays uploaded: you can replace it or publish anyway.
Files already on the site: if a file is identical, byte for byte, to content already published on the platform, it isn’t accepted. It protects against people republishing someone else’s material.
2. Title and caption
- Title — the only required field. When you leave the field, we suggest tags related to what you wrote: the more precise the text, the more useful the suggestions.
- Caption — like on Instagram: write the text and put the hashtags at the end. Hashtags become the post’s search tags. Under the field you see how many characters you have left.
- Tags — up to 6. Choose from Suggested tags and Trending tags, or type one and press Enter.
The title is also used as the image’s alternative text: really describe what’s there, it helps both searchers and screen reader users.
3. Visibility: who can see it
| Visibility | Who sees it | When to choose it |
|---|---|---|
| For everyone | Anyone, even without an account | To get known: these are the posts that bring new followers |
| Fan Club | Only your Fans | To give value to your Fan Club |
| Tip | Whoever unlocks it with a tip | For content you want to sell piece by piece |
| Tip or Fan Club | Included for Fans, unlockable with a tip by everyone else | To earn from both without making Fans pay twice |
To use Fan Club or Tip you need at least one active Fan Club level: if you don’t have one, the site tells you and takes you to the right page.
4. The price: the viewer chooses
On Sweetly you don’t write a price. A paid post unlocks with a tip, and the viewer chooses the amount from 5, 10, 20 or 50 tokens. Any amount unlocks the content; the most generous choose the higher ones. People who haven’t paid see a preview blurred in the pixels: the original file never reaches anyone who hasn’t unlocked it.
5. Draft or publish
- Save as draft — the post stays private and only you see it. Come back to it whenever you like.
- Publish — the post goes online, in the feed and on your profile. The button only becomes active once the file is uploaded.
Post statuses
| Status | What it means |
|---|---|
| Draft | Not published yet: only you see it |
| Under review | Waiting for staff to check it |
| Published | Visible in the feed and on your profile |
| Disabled | Hidden from the feed and profile, but saved: turn it back on whenever you like |
| Rejected | Staff didn’t approve it |
If a post carries the Blocked by staff mark, you’ll find the reason underneath. If you think it’s a mistake, write to support.
Editing, hiding, deleting
- Editing a published post. A post that’s online can’t be edited directly: people who already unlocked it mustn’t find something different from what they paid for. Press Disable, make your changes and republish it with Enable.
- Hiding. Disable removes the post from the feed and your profile without deleting it.
- Deleting. Removes the post from the feed and your profile for good. People who already bought it can still find it: their purchase stays valid.
Once a file is uploaded, the post type — photo or video — can’t be changed: for another type, create a new post.
Post stats
In the Posts list every published item shows Views, Likes, Comments and Unlocks, with the tokens earned. Press View to open the post as the public sees it, with comments and the list of people who tipped you. The per-item detail, with the view-to-unlock conversion, is in Earnings › Content: see Earnings and commissions.
Tips for posts that perform
- Alternate For everyone posts with paid ones: the first bring people in, the second earn.
- Write concrete titles and use trending hashtags that fit you.
- Publish regularly: recent posts sit at the top of the feed.
- Use Tip or Fan Club visibility to reward your Fans without giving up other people’s unlocks.
Frequently asked questions
How much can I charge for a post?
You don’t set the price: viewers unlock the post with a tip, choosing from 5, 10, 20 or 50 tokens. Any amount opens it.
Can I edit a post that’s already published?
Yes, but first it has to be disabled: make your changes and republish it. That way people who already unlocked it don’t lose what they paid for.
If I delete a post, do buyers lose it?
No. The post disappears from the feed and your profile, but people who already bought it can still see it.
How big can files be?
Photos up to 5 MB, videos up to 2 GB. Accepted formats: JPG, PNG, WEBP and AVIF for photos, MP4, MOV and WEBM for videos.
Why was my video rejected as a duplicate?
Because it’s identical, byte for byte, to content already on the platform. Upload a different file; if the content is yours and someone else published it, report it through the DMCA procedure.
