Create an account and confirm your email
Signing up step by step: account type, password, date of birth, username and confirming your email address.
In this article
Creating a Sweetly account is free and takes less than a minute. You need an email address you can access, a password and your date of birth. You choose your username right after, and the last step is confirming your email with the link we send you.
Before you start
- You must be at least 18, or the legal age in your country if that’s higher. We ask for your date of birth and an explicit declaration.
- Use an email address you actually check: it’s where confirmations, password recovery and support replies arrive.
- One email address works for one account only. If you see An account with this email already exists., you’ve probably signed up already: go to I can’t sign in.
Signing up, step by step
- Open Sign up, or press Sign up for free at the top of the site.
- Choose the Account type: User if you want to watch, follow and support performers; Performer if you want to publish, go live and earn. If you’re not sure, read User or performer account.
- Enter your email and choose a password. Under the field you’ll see the requirements and a strength meter.
- Enter your date of birth.
- Confirm you’re an adult and accept the Terms of service and the Privacy policy. Emails with news and offers are optional.
- Press Create account. You’re in straight away, and the confirmation email arrives right away.
Password requirements
Your password needs at least 8 characters, with at least one capital letter, one number and one symbol. The form ticks each requirement as you type, and the meter goes from Weak to Excellent. A tip: use a long phrase you can remember easily, and don’t reuse it on other sites.
Choosing your username
After signing up we ask for your username. It’s the address of your profile and how others mention you in chat.
- 3 to 32 characters: letters, numbers and underscore (
_). No spaces or accents. - As you type we tell you if it’s available, and if it isn’t we suggest alternatives.
- Some names are reserved by the site, for example those matching Sweetly’s own pages.
- You choose it only once. It can’t be changed afterwards, because links to your profile that you’ve already shared would stop working.
If you haven’t decided yet, press Later: we’ll ask again next time you sign in. Your display name, on the other hand, is different from your username and you can change it whenever you like from your profile.
Confirming your email address
As soon as you create the account we send you an email with a confirmation link. Open it on whichever device you like: the page says Address confirmed, and your account goes from To confirm to Verified.
Until you confirm, a notice at the top of the site shows how much time you have left. Confirming isn’t a formality: it proves the address is yours, and it’s the only way to recover the account if you forget your password. If the time runs out before you confirm, you can’t sign back in until you open a new link.
If the confirmation email doesn’t arrive
- Wait a couple of minutes: email is sometimes slow.
- Check your Spam, Promotions or Updates folders. If you find it there, mark it as “not spam” so future emails arrive too.
- Check you typed the address correctly. You can see it on the Account page.
- Press Resend the email in the notice at the top of the site.
If nothing arrives after all that, open a ticket: we’ll check for you.
The link says it has expired
A confirmation link works once and for a limited time. If you read This link has expired or has already been used, ask for a new one with Resend the email. If you had already used it and the account shows Verified, there’s nothing else to do.
If you sign up as a performer
A performer account is created the same way, but publishing and going live need one more step: the application, with your personal details, an ID document, a selfie holding the document and signing the contract. Until it’s approved you can complete your profile, but you can’t broadcast or sell. The whole process is in How to apply as a performer.
Frequently asked questions
Does signing up to Sweetly cost anything?
No, creating an account is free and there are no fees. You only pay in tokens for what you decide to unlock or buy.
Can I change my username?
No. You choose your username once because it’s your profile address. You can, however, change your display name whenever you like — the one shown on cards and in chat.
Can I use the same email for two accounts?
No, each email address matches one account only. If you want to both watch and publish, a performer account also lets you follow other performers.
Why do you ask for my date of birth?
Because Sweetly is for adults only. Your date of birth never appears on your profile: it’s only used to check your age.
I typed my email wrong: what do I do?
Your sign-in email can’t be changed directly on the site. Write to us from support with the correct address and we’ll help you fix it.
