Following, reminders and notifications

Following a performer is free and lets you find her posts and live shows without searching for her. With reminders you know when she’s on air, and with notification settings you choose what to receive and where: on the site, on your phone or by email.

Following a performer

On the performer’s profile, press the follow button (Add to the creators you follow). From then on:

• you’ll find her on the Following page in your menu;
• her posts appear in the Feed when you choose the Following sort;
• you get her alerts — live shows and new content — according to your notification settings.

To stop, press the same button again (Stop following), or use Stop following from the Following page.

The Following page

In Following you’ll find all the performers you follow. From each row you can message her (Message), stop following her or report the profile.

Good to know: when you follow a performer, you appear in her Followers list, with the date you started following, whether you’re in her Fan Club and the total you’ve spent with her. If you’d rather she didn’t see that, don’t follow her: you can still watch her content and her live shows.

Getting notified when she goes live

There are two ways, and they work together too.

• Notify me when they go live. On the profile of a performer who isn’t live, press Notify me when they go live: we let you know as soon as she turns on her camera.
• The reminder for a scheduled live show. In Live cam, in the Upcoming Lives strip, press the reminder on an announced show: you get an alert shortly before it starts. It works even if you don’t follow that performer.

Followers also get an alert shortly before the live shows a performer schedules.

Choosing which notifications to receive

Open Settings and choose the Notifications tab. For each kind of alert choose the channels: Site / Push and Email.

You can also manage promotional emails from the Privacy page.

Push notifications on phone and computer

Push notifications arrive even when the site is closed.

1. In the Notifications tab, turn on Push notifications on this device.
2. Accept the browser prompt.

The setting applies to the device where you turn it on: repeat it on your phone and computer if you want them on both. On iPhone, push notifications only work if you’ve added Sweetly to your Home Screen: see Install Sweetly on your phone.

If you read Blocked by this browser's settings for this site, you declined them in the past. Turn them back on from your browser settings (the padlock icon next to the address, then Notifications), and return to Sweetly.

Frequently asked questions

Does following a performer cost anything?

No, following is free. You just need an account.

How do I know when a performer goes live?

Follow her, or press Notify me when they go live on her profile. For shows already announced, turn on the reminder in the Upcoming Lives strip.

Does the performer know I follow her?

Yes, you appear in her followers list with the date you started following and the total you’ve spent with her.

Why am I not getting push notifications?

Check you turned them on in the Notifications tab on that device and that your browser isn’t blocking them. On iPhone you need Sweetly added to your Home Screen and the app opened from the icon.

Can I get only emails and not site notifications?

Yes. For each kind of alert you choose the channels separately: Site / Push, Email, both or neither.
