How to Follow an Adult Channel Online Without Missing a Show

Live shows don't wait. Follows, notifications, the schedule of upcoming shows and a phone shortcut: a practical way to keep up with the adult channels you enjoy.

The best part of a live show is that it's live. The worst part is the same: if you're not there, you miss it. Unlike a video archive, a live adult channel online doesn't wait for you, and the performers you enjoy most are often the ones with the busiest rooms and the least predictable evenings.

The good news is that keeping up doesn't take much effort once you set things up properly. This guide shows how to build your own personal programme guide on Sweetly: who to follow, how notifications work, how to use announced shows, and a few habits that make you a welcome regular rather than a passing face.

Step one: follow the people you enjoy

Following is free and it's the foundation of everything else. When you follow a performer:

  • you get notified when they go live;
  • their posts appear in the Following view of the feed, so you see their new photos and videos without searching;
  • they become easy to find again from your list of follows.

You can follow from the profile or directly from the live room. There's no limit, but a tip: follow generously at first, then prune. A list of thirty people you actually like is far more useful than three hundred you followed once and forgot.

The details are in Following, reminders and notifications.

Step two: turn on notifications that actually reach you

Following someone is only useful if the notification reaches you in time. Live shows often start with little warning, and the first minutes are when the room is most relaxed and the performer has time to greet people.

On Sweetly you choose, alert by alert, where notifications arrive: on the site, as push notifications, by email, or any mix. Push notifications reach you even when the site is closed: turn them on in Settings, under Notifications, on each device you use. On iPhone they work once you've added Sweetly to your Home screen, which takes a few seconds from the browser and doesn't need an app store. See Install Sweetly on your phone.

If there's one performer you don't want to miss but you'd rather not follow, use Notify me when they go live on their profile: you're alerted as soon as they turn on the camera.

A note on discretion: if you share your phone or keep notifications visible on the lock screen, check your phone's settings to hide the content of notifications. That way you know something's happening without anyone else reading it.

Step three: use the schedule

Many performers announce their shows in advance, and those announcements are the closest thing an online adult channel has to a TV guide.

On the live page, Upcoming Lives lists the shows already announced, each with a countdown and a reminder button. Setting a reminder is the most reliable way not to miss a specific show: you get an alert shortly before it starts, even if you don't follow that performer. Followers are also alerted shortly before the shows a performer schedules.

Regular schedules are a good sign. Performers who stream on fixed days at fixed times are building a relationship with their audience, and their rooms usually have a familiar, friendly atmosphere. If you notice that someone you like streams every Tuesday and Friday evening, that's your programme.

Step four: use the feed between shows

Live shows are the heart of a channel, but most performers also post photos and videos between shows. The feed has three views: New, Popular and Following. The last one shows only the people you follow, in chronological order: it's the quickest way to catch up after a few days away.

Posts marked For everyone are free. Others are reserved for Fan Club members or can be unlocked with a tip; you see a blurred preview and the unlock options before you decide anything. How unlocking works is in Unlock photos and videos with a tip.

Step five: become a regular, not just a viewer

Following a channel is technical. Being part of it is social. A few habits make a real difference, to you and to the performer.

Say hello when you arrive. Performers notice who comes back. A simple greeting is how a regular is born.

Read the room rules. Each performer can write their own rules, and they're shown at the top of the chat. Respecting them is the minimum.

Don't demand, ask. The public room is free, and requests are welcome when they're polite and fit what the performer offers. If you want something specific and personal, that's what private sessions are for.

Support when you can. A small tip at the right moment, especially when the performer is working toward a goal, is noticed and appreciated far more than its size suggests.

Use private messages wisely. Messages are a great way to say you enjoyed a show or ask about the next one. Keep them respectful; performers can block anyone, and they do.

A short guide to good manners is in Messages, tips and chat etiquette.

When a Fan Club makes sense

If there's one channel you never want to miss, the Fan Club can be worth it. Depending on the tier, members can get exclusive content, discounts on content and private sessions, included live minutes, priority in messages and, on some channels, access to reserved rooms.

The subscription is monthly, or for 3 or 12 months, and you can cancel in one click while keeping access until the end of the period you paid for. Before joining, look at what each tier includes: channels differ a lot. See What the Fan Club is.

A simple weekly routine

If you like structure, here's a routine that takes a few minutes a week.

  1. Once a week, open Upcoming Lives and set reminders for the shows you care about.
  2. Each day, glance at the Following feed to see new posts.
  3. When a notification arrives, join early: the first minutes are the most relaxed.
  4. Once a month, review who you follow and unfollow the channels you no longer watch.

Frequently asked questions

How do I know when my favourite performer goes live?
Follow them. You'll get a notification when they start, and if they announce a show in advance you can set a reminder in Upcoming Lives.
Do I need an app to get notifications?
No. Turn on push notifications in your settings on each device. On iPhone, add Sweetly to your Home screen first: it works like an app, without an app store.
Is following a performer free?
Yes. Following, notifications, reminders and the Following feed are all free with an account.
Can I see a performer's past live shows?
Live shows are live: they aren't kept as an archive to rewatch. Between shows, many performers publish photos and videos on their profile.
Can a performer see that I follow them?
Yes. Followers appear in the performer's list with the date they started following, Fan Club membership and total spent. If you'd rather not appear, use Notify me when they go live and reminders instead of following.
