Sweetly vs OnlyFans, Fansly, Fanvue & Chaturbate: Which Platform Should You Choose to Start Your Creator Career?

«Which platform should I start on?» is probably the question we hear most from people about to begin. It’s the right question, because a platform isn’t just the place where you upload content: it decides where your audience will come from, how much of each sale you keep and what kind of work you’ll do every day.

In this article we compare Sweetly with the four best-known platforms: OnlyFans, Fansly, Fanvue and Chaturbate. The figures are those available in September 2026. We’ll try to be honest even where it doesn’t suit us: there’s no best platform in absolute terms, only the one that fits where you’re starting from.

From the outside they all look the same: a profile, some content, someone paying. In reality each was built on a different idea of how a creator earns.

OnlyFans is built around the subscription. The fan pays a monthly fee to see your profile, and adds tips and paid messages on top. The platform keeps 20%. It’s the name everyone knows, and that’s its big advantage. The limit, for beginners, is that inside OnlyFans it’s hard to be found by people who don’t already know you: you have to bring the audience yourself, almost always from social media.

Fansly started with the same logic but added two things creators appreciate: multi-tier subscriptions, with different prices and perks, and a discovery feed that helps newcomers a little more. The fee here is also 20%.

Fanvue is the youngest of the four. It leans heavily on artificial intelligence to manage messages and content, and to attract creators it keeps 15% for the first twelve months, then 20% like the others.

Chaturbate is another world: live streaming. Public rooms full of people, real-time tips, private shows. Broadcasters receive $0.05 per token, while viewers pay more, usually between $0.08 and $0.11. Traffic is huge, but it’s an audience used to hopping from room to room.

Sweetly tries to bring both worlds together. Your profile is public and discoverable, live shows have a free room and paid rooms — group shows and per-minute private sessions — and alongside them there are photos and videos, free or unlockable, and the Fan Club, the subscription with up to three tiers. Everything is paid from one token balance, and a token is worth the same to the buyer and to you.

The first instinct is to look at how much each platform keeps and pick the lowest. It’s understandable, but it’s an incomplete comparison, for at least three reasons.

The first is the token value. On some platforms a token is worth less to you than what the viewer paid for it, and that difference is effectively a fee that doesn’t show up in the stated percentage. On Sweetly we chose not to do that: the token is worth exactly the same on both sides.

The second is how your share is calculated. A flat percentage is simple to understand; a scale that improves with volume rewards growth. On Sweetly, if you move up a tier mid-month, all of that month’s sales are recalculated at the new rate: reaching the top on day 28 counts as if you’d reached it on day 1.

The third, and most important, is how many people find you. Eighty percent of very little is still very little. A platform that brings you new viewers every day can be worth more than one that leaves you a slightly higher share of an audience you have to bring yourself.

For anyone starting from zero, this matters more than anything else.

On closed subscription platforms almost all of the audience comes from outside. That means spending hours on Instagram, X, Reddit or TikTok, following adult-content rules that get stricter every year, and hoping someone clicks the link. It works for people who already have a following. For those who don’t, it’s a long climb.

Chaturbate solves the problem the other way around: the audience is there, lots of it, but it doesn’t stay. Tonight you’re the most-watched room; tomorrow you’re one of a thousand.

Some people love being on camera; others prefer to prepare a photo set calmly. Platforms reflect this split: Chaturbate is made for the first, OnlyFans and Fansly for the second.

In practice, though, most creators who last end up doing both. Live shows bring new people and tips, and create a connection that content alone doesn’t. Content and subscriptions bring income that repeats even in weeks when you don’t stream. Having both in the same profile, with one audience and one balance, saves you from splitting yourself across two platforms and two communities. Every serious platform verifies the age of the people who publish. The real differences are in the tools they give you to protect yourself, and that’s where to look before choosing.
